KOREAN OPEN WCS CHAMPIONSHIPS
Starting as a small local event in 2013, Fall, Fall in Swing, now the Korean Open, grew steadily as people fell in love with the electric energy and family atmosphere and invited their friends to come experience it for themselves. Finally in 2018 we made the jump to an official WSDC Registry Event in order to make it even more meaningful to all participants and reach more international dancers. Our goal is to help share the Korean WCS community’s passion with the world!
“Going to Korean Open was unlike any other event. All the other events I’ve been to feel like a large dance party, and there’s nothing wrong with that. But KOWCS felt like a true celebration of West Coast Swing and everything about dance.”
Joel Jimenez, LA, USA
“This event is a must for anyone thinking of going overseas - a hidden gem with phenomenal social dancing, staff that genuinely cares about their guests, and memorable cultural experiences. It draws some of the best and friendliest social dancers from all around the world, and their enthusiasm is contagious. You feel welcome from the moment you arrive, and come away with a piece of Korea in your heart!”
Kristine Dougherty, San Diego, USA
“I remember Korean Open during my first trip to South Korea in 2018. One of the best atmospheres I have experienced in 10 years of WCS! With a beautiful community, with a beautiful mindset: only smiles and fun atmosphere. I remember an incredible energy during the weekend, dedicated people willing to learn a lot, inspiring moments, lot of fun comps on the dance floor! The organizers did an impressive work, taking care of us - people from abroad - before/after the event! Unforgettable”
Chris Bojovic, Paris, France
“As a newcomer dancer, I felt that the Korean dance community was very welcoming. Korean Open was my first official West Coast event, but all the teaching staff and dancers of all levels were so kind and inclusive, so I had a really good time overall!”
Emylie Boivin, Québec, Canada
